Matt 6:25-34
Worrying Is Finite
Whatever the thing is, about which you worry, it is a means to an end, and it is not the end, but it will most definitely end.
"Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?" v25Whether you worry about work, your weight, your wedding, your wellness, or your windows ...they are "finite" things; things you can't take with you when your days end.
Worrying Is Fruitless
Worry will not pay you a dime in the meantime.
And while you're waiting on worry to pass ....realize that worry will not pay you a dime in return for your troubles.
"And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life?" v27
Worrying Is Faithless
However big the worry ...it takes only a little faith to overcome.
"But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith?" v30Jesus' own disciples asked why they were unable to cast out demons. They didn't understand what it was that rendered them impotent. Christ instructed them that it was "little faith" which caused them to fail. And reminded them that it "only" takes faith, the size of a mustard-seed, to succeed.
"Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, "Why could we not cast it out?" He said to them, "Because of your little faith. For truly, I say to you, if you have faith like a grain of mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move, and nothing will be impossible for you." (Matthew 17:19, 20 ESV)So wipe away worry ...it only takes a fragment of faith to do so.
